Free themes are really great, but you do have to be really careful because a lot tend to have spam or hacks in theme. I have bad experiences with this myself. Free themes are really great, but you do have to be really careful because a lot tend to have spam or hacks in theme. I have bad experiences with this myself. In fact I recently wrote a free vs. premium themes post to highly the cons and pros of each, and I discuss this very issue.
